Job Description:
School Psych needed for Gallup Mckinley County Schools in Gallup, NM
* Located in Northwest NM near the border of AZ
* estimated case load for LSSP/DIAG around 80
* they have records clerks tha thelp with parent forms and meetings etc
* most float between schools – they try to honor grade level requests as best as they can but everyone typically floats to a few campus "in and out of town" since its a large district
* Bilingual folks a HUGE plus – they had to contract specific cases this year at a high cost out of desperation
The preferred qualifications include:
- A strong understanding of the New Mexico TEAMS Manual, New Mexico eligibility criteria, IDEA requirements, and comprehensive evaluation practices.
- The ability to write high-quality evaluation reports, effectively communicate assessment results to families and IEP teams, and consistently meet evaluation timelines.
- Experience conducting culturally responsive evaluations and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with technology, including Synergy, Microsoft Teams, and other platforms used for documentation, virtual meetings, and collaboration.
- The ability to effectively conduct evaluations and participate in both in-person and virtual meetings.
Qualifications:
- Degree in current specialty field of work from an accredited university
- Current and valid state licensure to practice or current state certificate in field of work required for the position
- One year of experience preferred in role however, a new graduate with fieldwork in a school setting may be considered
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
