Teacher of the Visually Impaired

Job Description:
TVI needed for this district East of Dallas
– 5 students requiring all Braille instruction across varying grade levels
– Materials and assignments would need to be brailled.
– Instruct in any VI needs.
– Complete evaluations.
– Assist in manipulation of materials.
– Be able to communicate with teachers about the needs of the students.
– Be familiar or willing to learn about Monarch devices.
Qualifications:
- Degree in current specialty field of work from an accredited university
- Current and valid state licensure to practice or current state certificate in field of work required for the position
- One year of experience preferred in role however, a new graduate with fieldwork in a school setting may be considered
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
